QUESTIONS:
Where do my recycled news papers end up? -Mary, NC
What are some ways we can help conserve water?-Jessica NC
Mary, good question. The answer is simple, you have recycled newspaper all over your house. Recycled newspaper (and other variations) are processed into materials such as paper grocery bags, notebook paper, magazines, envelopes, boxes, cartons and new newspaper. When the recycled paper reaches the paper mill, it is thrown into a big vat of water to remove all the inks. Then it soaks in water and detergent and is later run through mesh plates to flatten. The leftover pulp is pressed and made into paper. When it dries, it is shipped off to stores and other factories all around the country. Now the saying making coupons into products is true (coupons are paper after all).

Jessica there are many easy ways to save water. Now that North Carolina is in a drought,(however you spell it) it is extra superduper important. One way is to stop water when you don't need it. For example, put shampoo in you hair, let it sit then turn on the water. If that doesn't seem convenient then use two in one hair stuff, it may sound weird but every drop counts. Another way is to turn of the faucet while brushing your teeth and that kind of stuff. Also, use the water you may use to do things like wash strawberries to water plants just by placing a bowl or something under the strainer. Though this may sound like I am just trying to think of any green things to think of anything green but composts really help as well. So do every thing you can except use your bath water for spaghetti.

Hey Chloe,
Which is better for the environment, bath or shower?
-anonymous
Ello to you too!
That is a great question that depends on many different factors, generally speaking showers are better for the environment. Baths use up a lot of water and so do showers but you can use the gray water (soapy water with shampoo and stuff) to water plants, etc. With bath water however, that can be difficult and unsanitary.I hope i answered your question, now get off the computer and go plant a tree!

Oh, and how do I get a Username?
Cindy in New York
thanks
Dear Cindy in New York,
Thanks for your support and encouragement. User names are only for people with pages so they can edit stuff and reply(like this). So you don't need a user name to do anything really so don't worry about anything!
thanks,
Chloe
