What is Global Warming?
Now a days, we come across the word Global Warming almost everyday, whether it is on the national news or in the local newspaper. But what is this “Global Warming” everyone is talking about? Two worlds can describe Global Warming… Earth Killer. Global Warming is one of the biggest issues of our time. People might say Global Warming means “The earth is burning up.” But how is Global Warming created? Let’s start with what the earth would be like without Global Warming. The sun gives off solar beams to warm up the earth, since the sun is our warmth supply. When those solar beams hit the earth, they are supposed to bounce back into space.
On earth these days, we humans are using and creating things that give of certain gases and air pollution. These gases rise up into the sky as they mix with air particles and water. The gas rises up outside of the earth, making a belt of what are called greenhouse gases around the earth. They are called greenhouse gases because now, whenever light beams go towards the earth, they still enter but the greenhouse gas belt traps the beam in, making the beam repeatedly hit the earth with heat. That is why our earth is “burning up."
So, how do we stop Global Warming? Well, a big contributor of Global Warming is factories, which give off a majority of the pollutants that turn into greenhouse gases. Even though there is no real way to stop factory pollution, there are still many ways to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the air. Cars, for example, give off a lot of pollution. Consider getting a hybrid car next time you go car shopping. They are half electric, and are eco-friendly. There are many more ways to help. Please consider this global problem and join the fight to save our Earth. DOWN WITH GLOBAL WARMING!

Why is it called a greenhouse gas???
Answer to Question
Hey Anonymous, this is Aly.
Your question was : Why is it called a greenhouse gas???
That is a very good question. Think of a Greenhouse in genral (where you grow plants)
The glass is specially designed to to let the sunlight and heat in, but traps in when it bounces off the plants and tries to escape.
Like a typical greenhouse, greenhouse gases let in the heat to warm up the Earth, but when it bounces off the Earth and tries to escape, the Greenhouse Gases are trapping the heat in.
